  13. On March 7th, frustrated at a ridiculously long-treaded piece of
  14. drivel about a scratched Aminet CD someone had purchased from Safe
  15. Harbour; I INCORRECTLY placed the following post:

  22. I INCORRECTLY ATTRIBUTED THIS "PURCHASE" TO CALE CURRIE AND I MOST
  23. SINCERELY WOULD LIKE TO RETRACT IT!

  25. In fact,....
  26. Dale Curry's post was in defense of Safe Harbor, whom he feels to be
  27. a reputable, and loyal, dealer.  Lacking Web presence, Mr. Curry was
  28. putting in a few words in their defense.

  30. Without wishing to draw this matter out further, Mr. Currie sent me a
  31. private email post, curteous and most tolerant, explaining my error.
  32. "An officer and a gentleman".
  33.  
  34. I replied that I had long and varied Amiga experience, having for awhile
  35. (late 1992 to C=closing in April'94) owned and run a large Amiga-only
  36. Toronto area dealership....BUT....that when it came to comms and the
  37. Internet, I was a 47-year old 'newbie'.

  39. I offered to print a retraction, Mr. Currie stated that under normal
  40. circumstances he would welcome one, but he took pity on this "newbie"
  41. and has indeed sent several subsequent, helpful messages to me with
  42. hints and just pleasant talk.

  44. Dale, even though you declined my offer of a retraction; I feel that it
  45. is not only necessary and ethical, but having now realized your
  46. involvement with AMITRIX DEVELOPMENT, of Edmonton, AB; I feel that I
  47. have possibly even compromised your business interests and your
  48. relations with Safe Harbor.

  50. It speaks volumes about AMITRIX DEVELOPMENT as well, when:
  51.  
  52. i)  Dale Currie was so quick to pick up on my error; but to 'speak to
  53.     me privately' (email) about it.
  54.  
  55. ii) That he, upon learning of my "47-year old newbie" problems; despite
  56.     being a prodigious Amiga user in a lot of other ways since 1988, has
  57.     taken so much time and effort to provide Internet support and hints
  58.     by Email.

  60. I am sure that this sort of conduct, attention to detail and helpfulness
  61. is carried out to all of Amitrix's work.
